This is the song about Antonio. It fits him because he is evil. I think if you listen to it, the song will describe Antonio Perfectly.

Charlie's Antonio Monolog

Top Ten List:

1.If you had committed treason against the king and were caught then you may find yourself without a head. Kings were rather cruel people and believed in appropriate punishment; they may put you in the dungeon or they may light you on fire. Antonio tried to kill king Alonso who Antonio is to be protecting.

2. In the beggining of The Tempest Antiono does not help to protect king Alonso. Back in that time the kings men were sppost to protect the king no matter what, and they were sppost to sink with the king. Antiono flees the ship with Sebastin. Antiono skipped out on doing his rightful duty. He still has to protect the king even though he is now the wrongful Duke of Milan.

3. The oldest son is to take over the dukedom. If anything were to happen to the oldest son, and say he does not have and sons of his own the second brother of the oldest son is to take over the dukedom. So Antonio kicked out his brother and rightful duke and took over. Antonio then became a higher and mor important person.

4. Back in the day the dukes were considered higher people. They had nice clothes and also had a good amount of power. The Duke and his family were treated very well and were highly educated.

5. The Duke's education was above most peoples. The duke's family would be tought by the best teachers. This applies to Antiono because he is smart in the sense of planing. The Duke also lived in a castle not in just any normal house. http://www.novelguide.com/a/discover/rens_02/rens_02_00154.html

6. Dukes lived in castles. Castles were guarded by the dukes men. The dukes castles was not as great or as guarded as the kings castle but it was a lot better then what normal citizens lived in.

7. There were severe punishments for bribery. Antonio bribes Alonso to help him get Prospero out of his dukedom. Antonio would have also been punished for his bribery.

8. During the time this play is set in, it was very unusual for family to betray each other. Antonio betrays his older brother and duke Prospero. Families during the 1600s would never do anything like this.

9. During the play Antiono only looks out for himself. Antiono could care less about anyone else who was on the island. He uses Sebastin so that he would not have to pay back his debts to King Alonso. Antiono is a very selfish person.

10. When Antiono has King Alonso send his army to kick out Prospero, Antiono was turning on his brother. The kings army was controled only by the king, and the men in the army only listened to the king and the kings higher ranking officers that did what the king told them to do.
